Now through October 31, 2009 (ATTENTION! EXTENDED TO 12/31/2009!!!) when you upgrade to a new telephone system a percentage of the purchase will be rebated to you directly in cash*.
Unlike our friends in the auto industry, the Telecommunications “Cash for Clunkers” program will not rely on the American taxpayer for funding. Our manufacturers realize that new system sales are the life blood of an industry employing over 3 million Americans and if taking a lower profit helps increase overall activity then so be it.
In addition to a wealth of new communications features and capabilities today’s telephone systems cost less to purchase, operate and maintain. Older systems use more electricity than new model telephone systems. Many of the older telephone instruments were constructed with potentially toxic materials including lead, cadmium, mercury, chromium and polyvinyl chlorides. As such many of these systems have been discontinued making it harder and harder to find replacement parts and technicians familiar with the system.
